Als ik iets binnen in me voel springen, dan weet ik dat ik op het juiste spoor zit.

Door te combineren, heen en weer te schuiven, en weer te schuiven, steeds weer andere composities te zoeken, en door ‘gelukkige ongelukken’ te appreciëren, ontstaat een nieuw uniek beeld. 

Na een paar dagen werken aan een collage, heeft het nieuwe beeld zich ontwikkeld tot een persoonlijkheid. Ik weet hoe het beweegt, voelt, eet en danst.

De puzzel is compleet. Ik ontdekte een nieuw wezen. 

Ik knip foto’s uit boeken en tijdschriften die ik krijg of koop in  kringloopwinkels.

In deze uitgeknipte stapel plaatjes liggen figuren verborgen die erop wachten om door mij ontdekt te worden. 

De inspiratie voor mijn collages komt voort uit verwondering.

Verwondering over de vormen en ritmes in de natuur.

Verwondering over vreemde bloemen, en vreemde dieren, vooral in de diepzee.

Op de pagina 'Creatures' beschrijf ik specifieker waar de fascinatie voor wezens uit de diepzee vandaan komt.

When I feel something jump inside me, I know I'm on the right track.

By combining, moving pieces back and forth, sliding again and again, constantly looking for different compositions, and by appreciating 'happy accidents', a new unique image is created.

After a few days of working on a collage, the new image has developed into a personality. I know how it moves, feels, eats and dances.

The puzzle is complete. I discovered a new creature.

I cut pictures from books and magazines that I get or buy at thrift stores.

Hidden in this cut-out pile of pictures are figures waiting to be discovered by me.

The inspiration for my collages comes from wonder.

Wonder about the shapes and rhythms in nature.

Wonder about strange flowers, and strange animals, especially in the deep sea.

On the 'Creatures' page I describe more specifically where the fascination for creatures from the deep sea originates.
